- Tribal Peer Reviewers Needed
Peer reviewers with Native American policy expertise are needed to serve as reviewers for the OJP grant programs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. All interested in becoming a peer reviewer for OJP are asked to submit a current resume or curriculum vitae, including a valid e-mail address, to Amy Callaghan at Amy.Callaghan@usdoj.gov.
Please put "Tribal Policy Peer Reviewer Candidate Resume" in the subject line. OJP will contact all peer review applicants once the resume information has been entered into the OJP database.

Because of hurricane weather conditions in Hollywood, FL, the September 8 session has been rescheduled for October 18,2008 from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m., at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has written tribal leaders to solicit their views on changes in its Tribal Youth Program (TYP) proposal for fiscal year (FY) 2009. Tribal leaders have also been invited to participate in a consultation on this topic conducted by OJJDP, in conjunction with the National Congress of American Indian Annual Convention in Phoenix, AZ on October 18, 2008. Written comments have been requested by October 31, 2008.
- GMS On-line Training Tool
On July 11, 2007, OJP released the Grants Management System (GMS) On-line Training Tool to assist grantees in administering their awards through the GMS. The On-line Training Tool provides step "by" step instructions to complete various functions within GMS, as well as the administrative policies associated with Grant Adjustment Notices, Progress Reporting, and Closeouts.

- The National Methamphetamine Threat Assessment (NMTA) 2007 is a comprehensive assessment of the threat posed to the United States by the trafficking and abuse of methamphetamine. The assessment presents strategic analysis of key national and regional trends and developments for the production and distribution of methamphetamine.
- Tribal Justice and Safety Publications - Justice in Indian Country
- A Study on Administration of Justice in Indian Country
The University of California Los Angeles School of Law was awarded nearly $1.5 million for a two-year study administered by the National Institute of Justice. "A Study of the Administration of Justice in Indian Country" will take a broad approach to understanding how the criminal justice system operate in Indian Country and investigate culturally informed ways of managing criminal justice. Consultation sessions have begun with Indian Tribes and additional consultations with community members and Federal representatives will continue in early 2007. [more]
